The molecule that came to be known as Anandamide set scientists on a 25-year quest that continues to this day.
Nicknamed the “amide of the inner bliss,” Anandamide (AEA) was discovered in the body more than 25 years ago.
  • This agent is actually a molecule that came to be known as Anandamide.
  • It is the most studied cannabinoid to date.
  • It occurs naturally in the body and activates the cannabinoid receptors by bonding to them.
  • Remarkably, it is even found in malignant melanoma cells in people suffering cancer.
  •  Anandamide activates the cannabinoid  receptors and the level of activation depends on the concentration of this fascinating  compound.
