136 American military veterans in San Diego area
A phase-two clinical trial involving approximately 136 U.S. military veterans is underway in the San Diego area.
The study is examining the effects of CBD on Post-Traumatic-Stress Disorder (PTSD).
It’s designed around the hypothesis that individuals who take CBD while getting Prolonged Exposure therapy will see a greater reduction of symptoms than those who do not take CBD.
Study to be conducted over five-year period
The study will be conducted over the next five years by the VA San Diego Medical Center (for veterans), in collaboration with the University of California San Diego School of Medicine.
“The study represents the logical and innovative next step for augmenting existing treatments and developing novel pharmacotherapy for PTSD,” according to a description of the clinical trial.”
The study starting recruiting last March is will continue over the next five years.
