Yale University Clinical Trial: THC for Pain

One of 26 studies underway at Yale on the effect of cannabinoids

A clinical trial to test the effects of THC on pain is underway at Yale University, the Ivy League research university in Connecticut.

Study results are expected by the end of this year.

The clinical trial is one of 26 studies at Yale that are specific to cannabinoids.

Half are active studies; the other half in recruitment stage

In addition, four clinical trials have been completed, and results are not publicly available for three of them.

Studies previously proposed

It appears that many of these studies were resurrected from trials that were started as far back as 2008, and then put on hold.

Most started to move forward again in 2018 and 2019.

Founded in 1701, Yale is the third-oldest institution of higher education in the United States and one of the nine Colonial Colleges chartered before the American Revolution.
