100% more powerful
A combination of CBD and the antibiotic Vancomycin was 100% more effective than the antibiotic on its own, according to newly published research in the scientific journal Frontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology.
(Vancomycin is used in life-threatening bloodstream infections and bacterial meningitis. Eli Lilly first marketed the drug more than 60 years ago, under the trade name Vancocin.)
According to the article, the researchers found that: “CBD, in combination with specific antibiotics, … selectively target bacteria … and reduce antibiotic resistance.”
The research team included the founder and chairman of GW Pharmaceuticals, as well as a visiting professor at University of Westminster who is also a scientific advisor to GW Pharmaceuticals.
